The main irrigation line is laid

The main irrigation line has been laid: 1200' of 2" pipe around the property, with irrigation nodes at the ends and every 150' or so.  Each node will have 4 zones and run between 8 and 12 sprinklers per zone. In addition, a 1.25" pipe has been laid with 45 degree elbows for wire threading to each node.  Initial threading is done by using a mouse with a line attached and blowing it with compressed air (the leaf blower works).  The 1.25" pipe will allow for the solenoid power lines and communications cable.  The current idea is to use one-wire devices to trip the solenoids through a relay.  The one-wire devices would be controlled through a computer.

The initial setup for the irrigation nodes has hose outlets, but in each node a 1" threaded plug has been placed for the addition of the solenoid valves for automatic irrigation.  Initial testing with 8 sprinklers and a manual hose open indicates the pump produces plenty of pressure for the planned zones.  The 2500 gallon tank empties in just over an hour.

Still to go is a 138' branch to the herb garden...
