Bees sometimes need feeding, particularly to strengthen a hive before winter. To feed bees use a mixture of sugar and water: 2 parts sugar to 1 part warm water. Dissolve sugar completely. Allow mixture to cool before feeding.
If too much sugar is fed the bees can go a little crazy, so do not feed to much at a time. For my colonies, 1 liter at a time seems good. They go a little crazy with 2 liters.
Fed bees in C1: 1 liter. Reaction much better this time. Plenty of activity but not swarm type of activity, and no die-out.
Fed bees in C2: 2 liters syrup. Bee reaction was pretty extreme, maybe too much feed. Noticed many dead bees in front of colonies, and not all were drones. Unsure what caused the die-out, maybe feed was too warm? There might be too big a gap between the feeder and the top board.
